A tapestry of lore & imagination
I remember sitting at a dinner with others who loved mythology, when an older well educated man said simply: “we need a new myth for the future.” In this tale, author Oleg Veretskiy has done this in a deft way. His main protagonist is a little girl named Lisa. It is through her eyes we see a whole new world. The author has woven together a tapestry using both Ukrainian lore and unparalleled imagination. This is a fantasy world where family, love, courage, and kindness prevail. The reading of this story was a guilty pleasure for me as an adult. I would have gladly read it to my children as they grew up, and I will highly recommend it to them. It is Lisa who ends up leading us into the future. ~ Dr. Lillian Wallace
Mesmerizing, spiritual fairy tale
I’ve always loved fairy tales, but this one is so much more. The symbolism throughout the story is magnetic and leaves the interpretations up to the reader. The things I enjoyed about this book besides the incredible interwoven story are the characters. Lisa is just a little girl. And her mother is dying. She’s extremely sad and would do anything to save her mother. So when Jonathan shows up with a magical music box, the journey Lisa embarks on takes her through unimaginable scenarios. Along the way, she meets The Craftsman, The InsideOut Man, The Gardener and the darkness of Acrid. I was mesmerized by this story and how it aligns with so many of my spiritual beliefs. Perhaps it’s not meant to be spiritual, but that’s how I saw it. The infinite battle between light and dark rages. I loved the rainbow birds who sacrificed their lives for the cause. There is just so much in this book that touched me. If you are a lover of fairy tales with a strong message, then this book is for you. I highly recommend it!

Audio producers to dramatize the Mists!
It’s coming! Keep your eyes & ears peeled for an announcement of our audiobook Kickstarter, launching on Sept. 30. Directors Ryan & Aura of the award-winning PaigeVox Studio are planning a full dramatic production with a multi-character cast and sound effects. Kickstarters are all-or-nothing crowdfunding and our campaign will last for just 30 days, so pledges of any amount are important in bringing Oleg’s book to a new platform and audience.

Opening space for discovery
There’s something almost meditative in how Oleg leads you through the story. It’s not about giving answers, but about opening space for questions to emerge.
That gentle nudge beneath the surface invites us to engage not just with the text, but with ourselves, our assumptions, our perspectives, our meaning-making. In that way, the reading becomes less about following and more about becoming and discovery.

Anticipating the trilogy
What a wonderful book! It’s vivid and so interesting, and it’s all about the brave, clever and precocious young girl, called Lisa.
She begins her journey in order to make her mother better. But before that, Lisa needs to get this enchanted music box that she found, and make it work again. And from that she learns about various good and evil things within the Wandering Mists and different worlds. Lisa begins to meet strange characters and beasts. I particularly liked the two wonderful dolphins – one lives in the air, and the other in the earth, just fascinating.
This is only the first book in the trilogy. I shall continue to read the second and third. Highly recommended for every age.
